Tabletop a high-severity alert at 01:00. Who receives it? Who can freeze activity? Who documents the decision by morning? If answers depend on one person being awake, the monitoring framework has a single point of failure.
Fixing after-hours paths is often cheaper than explaining a missed escalation later. An escalation path assessment exists for exactly this exercise.
